Dare’s Doodles
___________________________________________________________________
Wyndham Volunteer Day has gone. The day was a fantastic event with between 900 to 1,000 Volunteers attending. For some sessions, there was standing room only. I enjoyed seeing and speaking to all of the Volunteers. Thank you for taking the day to spend with us.
Clothing can be purchased on course across from the Sedgefield Activity Building. The schedule is posted below. Volunteers may purchase straw hats. The hats are on prepaid order only for $20. If anyone is interested, they may call the Tournament Office (336-379-1570) to purchase one.
ShotLink and Walking Scorer’s training with the PGA will be on course on Aug 7th or Aug 9th. Walking Scoring will start at 6:30 pm on the 7th with ShotLink following at 8:00 pm. The training on Aug 9th will begin at 1:30 with Walking Scorers and 3:00 for ShotLink. With the new equipment (fanny packs are no more), all Walking Scorers and ShotLink Volunteers should plan to attend.
Hopefully everyone has heard from their hole sponsor or area chairman. If anyone has registered and not received communication from their area Chairman or hole sponsor, please contact me and I will get you to the right person (volunteers@wyndhamchampionship.com).
If you would like information about Sedgefield, please visit the website www.sedgefieldcc.org. You will find course maps, club history and directions. Also, www.wyndhamchampionship.com has parking directions, the Pro golfer list and other Tournament information. For ShotLink folks, the PGA has a ShotLink website (www.shotlink.com). Information helps the Volunteer have a better experience on the golf course. Please take time to check these sites.
Remember to continue to recruit Volunteers. We need Pro Am Caddies and Gallery Control Volunteers. To volunteer, please go to our website www.wyndhamchampionship.com and complete the registration. Be sure to use a password (I suggest “golf” or “12345”). An email will be sent to confirm the application.
Last but not least, on Friday, August 15th, the Wyndham Championship will host a block party beside Natty Greene’s. The band will be the Breakfast Club. For those of you who attended last year, you know a large time was had by all. The admission price is FREE! Please mark your calendar to listen to some wonderful music under the stars.
Thank you for all you do to help make the 2008 Wyndham Championship a success! We have the best Volunteers on Tour.
See you on course!
