GREENSBORO, N.C. (JUNE 28, 2012) – Wyndham Worldwide (NYSE:WYN), one of the world’s largest hospitality companies, today announced their commitment to supporting local Piedmont Triad charitable organizations dedicated to improving the lives of children through this year’s Wyndham Championship “Charity of Choice” awareness campaign. Wyndham’s philanthropic program, Wishes by Wyndham, is the official charity of the Wyndham Championship and supports numerous local non-profit organizations including Victory Junction, The First Tee of the Triad and Brenner Children’s Hospital.
“The Wyndham Championship gives us a national platform to support the efforts of so many outstanding organizations as part of our commitment to enhance the quality of life in communities around the world,” said Stephen P. Holmes, chairman and CEO, Wyndham Worldwide. “We are thrilled to host the “Charity of Choice” awareness campaign again during this year’s tournament.”
Starting Monday, July 9, fans can visit www.facebook.com/WyndhamWorldwide or wyndhamchampionship.com to vote for their favorite charity; voting will be available through July 25. During the week of July 30, 2012, the 10 charitable organizations with the most online votes will be named finalists and will be eligible for on-site voting at Sedgefield Country Club during the Wyndham Championship. The charity garnering the most votes during the tournament will receive a $100,000 donation courtesy of Wishes by Wyndham, the philanthropic arm of title sponsor Wyndham Worldwide, following the conclusion of the Wyndham Championship on Sunday, Aug. 19.
Last year, The First Tee of the Triad won the fan vote and the $100,000 donation and quickly made a donation to each of the other top-five finishers. Because it won last year, The First Tee of the Triad is not eligible for this program for five years. The list of eligible charities for this year’s Charity of Choice program is below:
Alamance Partnership for Children

Charitable organizations participating in the 2012 “Charity of Choice” awareness campaign must be non-profit organizations with current 501(c)3 status whose only mission is to improve the lives of children. Individuals or for-profit organizations of any kind are not eligible, and unlike last year, pass-through organizations whereby an organization raises money on behalf of another charitable organization may not participate. An organization with statewide or National reach must be able to designate a portion of the winning funds to Piedmont Triad programs in order to be eligible.
