Three of six former champions in the field have made it to the weekend. Sergio Garcia (-5), Webb Simpson (-2), and Arjun Atwal (-1), Carl Pettersson (+1), Brandt Snedeker (+1), Davis Love III (+3) won’t be around for the weekend.
Six of the eight hardest holes for the day are all on the back nine, with No. 14 and No. 18 going back and forth for hardest. For the second straight round, No. 5 is playing the easiest.
Report No. 6 – 5:15
John Huh fired a second round 62 (-8) to finish the day at -10, two strokes back of leader Patrick Reed.
Huh, the 2012 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year, posted a bogey-free round with 8 birdies. He is one of only 3 players to go without a bogey as of the completion of his round.
Three of the last five winners of the Wyndham Championship have held the lead after two rounds, but none since 2010.
Report #5 – 4:30
Charlie Wi pulled into contention, ending the day at -7 overall after a second-round 65 (-5). He posted eight birdies and three bogeys on the day. The 65 is the second-best round of the day, behind only leader Patrick Reed’s 64.
John Huh and Rory Sabbatini have both made afternoon pushes onto the leaderboard after 13 holes, moving to -7, four strokes back of the leader. Huh is -6 for the day, while Sabbatini is -4, and both have been bogey free.
Report #4 – 1:45
With birdies on three of his last five holes early Friday afternoon, Patrick Reed climbed into the Wyndham Championship lead at 11-under 129.
The former two-time Augusta State All-American, Reed is looking for his third straight top-10 and fifth top-25 in his last seven events. He drained a 10-foot birdie putt on his final hole of the day, the par-4, 416-yard ninth hole.
Reed has a bit of history here at Sedgefield Country Club. In 2011, after turning pro, he made his first cut at the Wyndham Championship. He began that week 66-68 before posting 71-73 on the weekend.
Reed led Augusta State to back-to-back National Championships in 2010 and 2011 and turned pro in June, 2011 at FedEx St. Jude Classic in Memphis, Tenn.

Jordan Spieth goes into the clubhouse as the early leader at -9 after a second round 66. He recorded seven birdies and three bogeys on the day.
Spieth has extensive course knowledge of the Sedgefield Country Club layout. As a junior, he tied for sixth and fourth, respectively, in 2008 and 2009.
Three weeks ago, Spieth made history at the John Deere Classic when, at age 19 years, 11 months, 18 days, became the youngest winner on the PGA TOUR since Ralph Guldahl won the 1931 Santa Monica Open at age 19 years, 2 months, 4 days. Since 1900, he is only the fourth player under age 20 to win on TOUR. The win came in his 24th career PGA TOUR start, and his 16th as a professional.
He birdied his last three holes in the final round, highlighted by a holed 45-foot bunker shot on the 72nd hole to force sudden death with defending champion Zach Johnson and David Hearn. He won with a par-4 on the fifth extra hole (No. 18). With the win, he earned full membership status on TOUR and became eligible for the FedExCup Playoffs.

Hideki Matsuyama shot a second round 65 (-5) after an opening round of even par. Starting on the back nine, Matsuyami bogeyed two of his first three holes.
The former Asia Pacific Amateur champion, Matsuyama then birdied four of the last six holes to make the turn at -3. An eagle on No. 5 and birdie on No. 8 moved him to 5-under, making up seven strokes in his last 15 holes.
In six PGA Tour events this season, he has five finishes of 21st or better. He began the season with a missed cut at the Sony Open, but has since tied for 10th at the U.S. Open, tied for sixth at The Open Championship and tied for 19th last week at the PGA Championship.
By making the cut, Matsuyama also locked up his PGA Tour card for the 2014 season.

Former Masters Tournament champoin Trevor Immelman is currently -5, three strokes back of the leader. He is fighting for his PGA Tour card this week at the Wyndham Championship.
The 2008 Masters Champion is playing the last event on his current card. Entering this week, Immelman is 148th in the FedEx Cup Points and 154th on the Money List. To earn exempt status for next season, he needs to be in the Top 125 from either list.
Defending champion Sergio Garcia is even par on the day through 12 holes. Starting on the back nine, he posted a bogey and birdie before making another birdie after the turn on hole No. 2. Following a bogey at the par-4 fourth hole, he is two strokes back of the leaders.
