GREENSBORO, N.C. – – Harris Teeter, a Mathews, N.C.-based grocer and current Chrysler Classic of Greensboro sponsor, has increased its commitment and become a Premier Partner, while wireless provider SunCom has joined the Chrysler Classic as a Tournament Partner.
Harris Teeter becomes the second company, in addition to VF Corporation, to commit to the Premier Partner level. Premier is the second-highest level of sponsorship beneath only that of Chrysler, the tournament’s title sponsor.
The new Premier Partner and Tournament Partner sponsorship tiers were created by the Chrysler Classic earlier this year. Seven other companies, in addition to SunCom Wireless, currently occupy the Tournament Partner sponsorship level: AIG United Guaranty, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, Crestor, the North Carolina Electric Co-op, Primland Resorts, Republic Services and United Parcel Service.
“Harris Teeter has been a major supporter of the Chrysler Classic for several years,” Tournament Director Mark Brazil said. “We are grateful for their increased commitment and appreciate the leadership role they have taken as our second Premier Partner. We are very happy to be associated with an industry leader like Harris Teeter. SunCom is a growing wireless provider, and we are proud that they are associated with the Chrysler Classic.”
The 2005 Chrysler Classic of Greensboro is set for Sept. 26-Oct. 2, 2005 at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. This year’s tournament marks the 10th anniversary of Chrysler’s title sponsorship and thanks VF Corporation and Harris Teeter for increasing their involvement to the Premier Partner level. Tickets are available at the tournament office at (336) 379-1570. Additional tournament information is available at www.chryslerclassic.org.
