GEORGE BIRGE WILL PLAY WYNDHAM CHAMPIONSHIP KICK-OFF CONCERT

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Before defending champion Lucas Glover and the rest of the 156-player field tee off in the 2024 Wyndham Championship, country singer-songwriter George Birge will play a tournament-week kickoff concert at One Thirteen Brewhouse + Rooftop Bar, the tournament announced today. The 85th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug, 7-11, 2024 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.

The concert is set for Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024 at 9 p.m. Birge got his break when his 2021 breakthrough single release, “Beer, Beer, Truck, Truck,” went viral on Tik Tok with 2.7 million views and increased his followers by 130,000 in just two weeks.

A native Texan now living in Nashville, Birge is currently on the road with Sam Hunt’s “Locked Up Tour” but will join Luke Bryan’s “Mind of a Country Boy Tour” in August. He previously shared the stage with Parker McCollum, Brantley Gilbert, Jake Owen, Matt Stell, Gary Allan and Scotty McCreery among others.

“George Birge is already a big-time star, but he’s just getting started,” Executive Director Mark Brazil said. “This guy could be a major force in Country Music, and we’re really fortunate to have him in our region for this great concert. We should have a capacity crowd for this show at One Thirteen Brewhouse – it’s a great way to kick off Wyndham Championship tournament week.”

Birge was named Billboard’s Country Music Rookie of the Month in January and one of Nashville Lifestyles’ “Artists You Need to Know” in January of this year. He performed his first No. 1 single, “Mind on You,” during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and the hit single  landed on Billboard’s All-Genre Hot 100 List.
