Keith has been a Wyndham Championship volunteer for more than 30 years! Born on a tobacco farm in Wendell, N.C., Keith came to Greensboro to earn his undergraduate degree in economics and his master’s in business at UNC-Greensboro.
Keith found his way onto the volunteer team at the Wyndham Championship in 1992 after he joined the Greensboro Jaycees. “The Greensboro Jaycees was a big organization back in the day, and many people joined because of the social aspect and the service. People would flock to the golf tournament to give back to the community.”
Throughout his time with the tournament, which spans 32 years, Keith has held various positions, including chairmanships, and is working with the Pro-Am team as a committee member. We asked him why he’s returned to the tournament for so many years. “The support of the Greensboro community keeps bringing me back year to year. This being my way of giving back – plus the camaraderie of it. I get to work with some exceptional volunteers and people throughout our community, and it has turned into a passion of mine.”
Keith’s favorite Wyndham moment came in 2015. “When Tiger Woods committed to coming to play in the tournament, there was such huge excitement.” Keith said, “the people were energized by the fact that he was coming. The gallery was awesome. I think that was a highlight moment not only for the Wyndham Championship but for the Greensboro community as well.”
Thank you for being so dedicated, Keith!
