Lisa has been a Wyndham Championship volunteer for the past four years. She started with the tournament through First Tee-Central North Carolina, where her children and grandchildren learned to play golf. We asked Lisa why she’s returned over the years, and she said, “I get to be in nature, and I just love golf. Being around so many people from all over and even all over the world, is amazing, and I can pick up so many nuggets of information.”
Lisa is a Greensboro native and is currently volunteering as a greeter. Lisa is also quite the Greensboro community leader. McMillan founded Turning Everything Around – a charitable organization that provides strategic support, connections, and resources to support clients’ personal and professional goals, helping them move from just surviving to thriving! McMillan said ‘the organization uses the game of golf to reach a different cohort of people while being able to raise money doing something fun.”
She told us her favorite part of the tournament is “watching the pros and the environment of tournament play and seeing all the spectators who act like they’re ‘outside-the-rope caddies.’ Watching the golfers crafting their games with the amount of detail that goes into their preparation and game. It’s revering.”
Lisa added, “I’m just really thankful that the Wyndham Championship is here, and everyone is here volunteering. I’ve been having the most fun being here the last few years, and I’m just very grateful to the First Tee for the opportunity.”
Lisa, we are thankful that you are here! Thank you for everything you do for our community and our PGA TOUR event!
