North State Named Wyndham Championship’s Official Fiber Internet Provider

GREENSBORO, N.C. – North State, a North Carolina–based provider of fiber internet, data and entertainment services with its headquarters in High Point, is now the official fiber internet provider of the Wyndham Championship, the tournament announced today.  The 75th anniversary Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 11-17, 2014 at Sedgefield Country Club.

As the Wyndham’s official fiber internet provider, North State will deliver internet and voice services for all areas of tournament operations.  In addition, North State will provide wireless internet access for tournament patrons at designated areas throughout the Sedgefield Country Club grounds.  In order to deliver these vital tournament services, North State is accelerating the planned expansion of its unique fiber to the home and business network in the Greensboro market.

“The Wyndham stands for so many great things for the region,” North State CEO Royster Tucker III said.  “It’s about people, volunteers, business, fans, fun, fellowship and relationships – a total display of what the Triad is all about.  The energy at the Wyndham is such a great fit for us as it aligns with North State’s focus to impact lives and businesses across the region.”

“We are thrilled to partner with a major High Point company like North State,” tournament director Mark Brazil said.  “For the last several years, we have been using the Wyndham Championship as a vehicle to promote the Piedmont Triad region of North Carolina, and anytime we can work with a company in our region, it enhances that focus.  North State is a fantastic company that was founded in High Point, and we are happy they have chosen the Wyndham Championship as a way to promote their expansion into other parts of the Triad.  We plan to do everything we can to help them expand their service throughout the region.”

A fixture in the Triad for more than a century, North State is one of the nation’s largest communications companies, delivering internet, data, and voice services to homes and businesses across an all fiber network.  The company recently announced the roll out of gigabit internet for homes and small businesses this year.
